About
BodyTranslation is a small collection of body measurement converters built around one idea: a conversion tool should give you the answer immediately, show you how it got there, and get out of the way.
Why another converter site
Most conversion pages are slow, buried under advertising, and give a single rounded number with no indication of how it was calculated. That is frustrating when the rounding matters — a height converter that reports 175 cm as "5 feet 9 inches" has quietly thrown away almost an inch.
Every tool here shows the result in each sensible format at once, keeps a decimal place rather than rounding to the nearest whole unit, and prints the formula it used so you can check the work by hand.
How it is built
The pages are static HTML with a small amount of JavaScript for the conversion itself — no framework runtime, no tracking scripts, no analytics. Conversions happen entirely in your browser, which is why the results appear as you type and why nothing you enter is ever transmitted.
The conversion factors used are exact by definition rather than measured approximations: an inch is precisely 2.54 centimetres, fixed by the international yard and pound agreement of 1959. Any rounding you see comes from the number of decimal places displayed, never from the arithmetic.
Accuracy and corrections
The conversion logic is covered by automated tests, including the awkward boundary cases where a rounded remainder would otherwise produce nonsense like "5 feet 12 inches". If you ever see a result you believe is wrong, please report it — a converter that is subtly incorrect is worse than no converter at all.
